QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in guitar, music history, and music technology. Guitar courses include applied lessons (classical and jazz), ensemble coaching, history, pedagogy, literature, masterclass, and guitar class for non-majors. History courses include surveys of all style periods including jazz and American music along with seminar topics in notation, J.S. Bach, chant, symphonic literature, and early music. Technology courses can survey or specialize in hard disk digital recording, MIDI sequencing, music notation, and web design for musicians. Software instruction includes Digital Performer, Deck, Peak, Protools, Garageband, Audacity, Kontakt, Finale, Sibelius, Toast, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, and NVU among many others.

GRANTS & CONTRACTS
o I assisted Rob James and Chris Munson in preparing a grant funded by the EKU Student Technology Fee. The grant was funded in 2010 and will provide the music lab with a ProTools hard disk digital recording workstation and a recording console and monitoring system that will allow room 300 to be used as a recording studio. The grant was funded for approximately $10,000.
o Assessment Grant I (2005): The EKU Department of Music Performance Assessment Project: Empowering Students in the New Millennium (2006 Final report DVD already given to Rob James and Karin Sehmann). I applied for the University Assessment Grant Project in February 2005 and received $2,639 of the total of $5,000 to be awarded amongst all applicants across the University (see attached grant for details).
o Assessment Grant II (2006): I applied for a second Assessment Grant in 2006 and was awarded $1,415. Six more cameras were purchased for the department (Canon ZR- 500s).
o Assessment Grant III (2007): In February 2007 I applied for a third Assessment Grant

and received $2,629.65. Applied faculty received a new Philips DVDR and a Portable DVD player to use with the MiniDv Cameras.
