About the EKU Guitar Program...

Dr. Dennis Davis directs the Eastern Kentucky University guitar program. The EKU guitar program is located in Richmond, KY and is unique for its tripartite focus on classical, jazz, and contemporary styles of guitar. EKU guitar ensembles are regularly invited to perform at festivals, where they have shared the stage with virtuosi such as William Kanengiser, Carlos Pérez, the Australian Guitar Duo, and The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Guest artists, such as Marcin Dylla, Anton Baranov, Matt Palmer, and Alex de Grassi, perform and teach at the university each year. Select students attend NAMM and students pursuing the Music Business/Recording Arts option have the opportunity to work for the school of music’s independent record label. Students also participate in internships with companies such as Sony, Gibson and Yamaha. EKU guitar graduates have consistently high job placement rates in the music industry, K-12 education, and in notable graduate programs. Scholarships are available to talented applicants.
